Have you heard the song "Akale Akale" - a malayalam song in the music album "Akale"? Have you heard the song "Kandu Kandu" from Mampazhakkalam ? Have you heard the songs "Chentharmizhi" and "Raakkilithan" from Perumazhakaalam?
If you answer "yes" to all the above questions - that means you must have heard the name M.Jayachandran, my favourite music director in Malayalam, who is associated with all the songs I have mentioned above.
Music director M.Jayachandran recently won a filmfare award for the best music director for Perumazhakaalam. Just listen to "Akale Akale" (http://www.musicindiaonline.com/p/x/orOutj4tndNvwrOupt7D/) and you will know why I have dedicated a seperate thread to this talented music director.
Unfortunately, many think that M. Jayachandran is the famous malayalam singer Jayachandran :), which is not true.

Very Nice song, Arjun, I will go and check out his other songs.
Yes aatma, the song is too good..I have got the mp3 one from coolgoose.
aatma - also check out the Kandu Kandu song from Mambalakazham!! My all time favourite mallu song!! Listen to the song imagining a pretty girl dancing bharathanatyam in slow motion near a temple pond with lotuses floating in the water that is green in color!! Or a large area covered with white sand with just a tree and blue skies!! wow - I was imagining my favourite Asin!!
I also thot that this Jayachandran is that Jayachandran. :)

Arjuna, thats interesting.. I thought this is same Jayachandran who sang "Oru Daivam thanda poover" in KM for ARR and those classic songs for IR. Huhh..

Hi, Even i was thinking Jayachandran is our old singer Jayachandran. Thanks for the info.
I like karthick singing "Akale", Kandu Kandu is simply amazing. Chentharmizhi and Aalolam is my favourite.
Regards,
Subbu
My goodness...thank you Arjuna for opening my eyes...Until I read you today and saw this picture..of P.Jayachandran..I was thinking that it is the other guy...!
Umm..!! Thanks .!
I like all the songs .! I usually listen at www.vismayam.net
Hi,
Yes. Yes. I too thought that Jayachandran is the singer turned composer. Thanx for correcting our assumptions. I have heard the title song from "Akale" and one song from Mambalakalam which is very good and impressive. But somehow one song in Mambalakalam resembles "Van polae vannam konda" song from "Salangai Oli".
Infact, even I was thinking they were the same, until I did a bit of research to find this out :)..
Thanks alias, subbu, narayanan sir and suresh for posting your comments :)
Suresh, I shall check out the song and let you know..
I also like Deepak Dev's Chronic Bachelor - good fusion type of music..Also some of his songs from Symphony are very good! But I didnt like the songs from Udayananu Tharam starring Mohanlal :( - Deepak Dev was ARR's assistant :)
I became a fan of Jayachandran after I heard the songs from Mullavalliyum Thenmavum, particularly, 'Dhumthanakadi'. Its available in Musicindiaonline, dont miss the tracks!
And, I also thought this is the singer until a friend cleared it!
Thanks karthik for leaving your comments - I shall definitely listen to the song and post the comments here :)
Karthik - Mullavalliyum Thenmavum is composed by Ousepachan :) - not jayachandran :)
Yes the song ninnave in Mullavalliyum Thenmavum is amazing! good one..
really he is an amazing music composer.not only a composer he is a great singer too.And have won the state award BEST MALE SINGER for the song "melle melle.."from the movie nottam which was composed by himself.
hei arjuna, how can you say that? The song "PARAYTAHE ARIYATHE"from the movie udayananu tharam sang by karthik is really beautiful.
